Allen-Barnes
GREENVILLE - Sarah Margaret Allen and Allen Jackson Barnes Jr., both of Columbia, were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Charles E. Daniel Memorial Chapel, Furman University.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Harper Allen and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Van Flemming Allen and Mrs. Margaret Wilkinson, all of Greenville. She graduated from Clemson University and is a fourth-year medical student at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia.
The bridgegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Jackson Barnes of Sumter and the grandson of Mr. Charles Arthur Segars and the late Mrs. Segars of Sumter and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Paul Barnes of Florence. He graduated from Clemson University and is a fourth-year medical student at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia.
Pastor Deb Richardson-Moore officiated at the ceremony.
Music was provided by Mr. Ed Dunbar, organist.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless ivory lace gown. She carried a bouquet of peonies, garden roses, spray roses, ranunculus and lisianthus.
Annie Marcum served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Rachael Allen, sister-in-law of the bride, Katherine Carmichael, Taylor Clarke, Caroline Ficklen, Ann Lawrence Hammond, Sydne Posey, Sarah Ratliff, Carlye Richter, Krista Robbins, Holly Scott, Emily Turner and Hallie Weems.
The bridegroom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Harper Allen, brother of the bride, Charlie Barnes and James Barnes, brothers of the bridegroom, Walker Blanding, Will Duffy, Ross DuRant, Redding Kingery, Daniel Muldrow, Will MacInnis, Hunter Moore, Josh Stuckey, Graham Talley, Rion Tapp and David Tucker.
The reception was given by the bride's parents at the Huguenot Loft at the Peace Center in Greenville.
The rehearsal dinner was given by the bridegroom's parents at the Venue at Falls Park in Greenville.
The couple will honeymoon in St. Lucia in April following their residency match March 15 and will reside in Columbia until at least graduation in May.
