TURBEVILLE — Asbury Cecil Smith, 67, husband of Sandra Kay Smith, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey.

Born Jan. 1, 1957, in Manning, he was a son of the late David Ernest Smith and Evelyn Driggers Smith. He was a retired truck driver. He was a family man and dearly loved his grandchildren.

Survivors in addition to his wife of nearly 46 years include one son, Cecil E. Smith (Latoya) of Rockledge, Florida; three grandchildren, Leighton William Smith, Cienna Evelyn Smith and Laila Catherine Smith; three sisters, Frankie Baxley and Myra Nesbitt (David), both of Turbeville, and Edith Ater (Mike) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel officiated by the Rev. Pat Goodwin and the Rev. Ron Morris. The family will receive friends following the service.

The family would like to recognize and thank a special brother-in-law, Allen L. Morris; niece, Donna Michelle Morris; and nephew, Henry Allen Morris, for their love and support.
