BARBARA ANN CAIN

Barbara Ann Cain, 73, beloved wife of Warren P. Cain Sr., passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Born Dec. 12, 1950, in Houlton, Maine, she was the daughter of the late George and Cecelia (Wall) Fitzpatrick. She is survived by her husband, Warren of Sumter; sons, Warren Cain Jr. (PJ) and Rita of Smyrna Mills, Maine, Michael Cain and Karole of Sumter, and Joseph Cain of Limestone, Maine; three grandchildren, Jacob Cain, Lauren (Ash) Cain and Kiersten Cain; brothers, George Jr., Edward, Leo, Henry and Bernard; sisters, Margaret (Peggy) Corey and Cecelia (Ceil) Brown; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by siblings, Arnold, Anthony, Allan, Andrew and Shelia.
Throughout her life, she was dedicated to her family and especially loved to support her sons' many sporting events and games. She retired from Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union in 2010, and in 2011, she and Warren moved to Sumter to be close to their grandchildren and support them in their sports, dance recitals and plays. In each place she lived, she became an integral part of the Catholic church she attended, including Saint Mary's of the Visitation in Houlton, Maine, Saint Agnes Parish in Milo, Maine, and Saint Anne & Saint Jude in Sumter.
Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Saint Mary's of the Visitation, Houlton, Maine, at 11 a.m.
A memorial mass for her Sumter family and friends will be held at Saint Anne & Saint Jude on Saturday, June 8, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Anne & Saint Jude Catholic Church, 1855 Beckwood Road, Sumter, South Carolina, 29153.
