CHRISTOPHER DAVIS

Funeral services for Christopher "Clirt" Davis will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 182 S. Pike Road East, Sumter, with the Rev. Aureila Hill, pastor, and Minister Gerald Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at Mulberry Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

A public viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the mortuary.

Christopher was born on Feb. 6, 1956, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Marie Davis Player and Jesse Irving.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Thomasina Player.

He departed this life on Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, in Gable.

He leaves to cherish his memories: three sons, Tarba Davis, Jermaine Davis and Sterlin Davis; a daughter, Marjetta (Demarcus) Butler; three brothers, Sherman Player, Nolan Player and Larry Player; four grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
