Love Covenant Church, 245 Oswego Highway, announces:

- Saturday, May 4 - A free yard sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Clothing, shoes, household items and furniture will be available.

The 7th Episcopal District of the AME Sumter District and the Sons of Allen will hold the "Enough is Enough" Community Prayer Vigil at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at Beulah AMEC, 3175 Florence Highway. The focus will be on the open carry law.

- Friday, May 10 - A food giveaway will be held from 1 p.m. until supplies last.

Hearts United (formerly Knitting Hearts) at Bethesda Church of God, 2730 Broad St., announces:

- Saturday, May 11, 2024 - The group will meet from 10 a.m. to noon. Angela Kgosana, a South Carolina native and co-founder of The Awakening Movement, a para-church ministry based in Darlington, will speak. In over 20 years of ministry, Angela and her husband, Ally, have served God in various leadership capacities and shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ in South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland and the United States. God has used them to pioneer university campus ministries, organize youth conferences in the townships of South Africa and the United States. Ally and Angela are pastors of Unity Christian Church, Alcolu. Praise and worship will be led by The McKoy Family Band. Admission is free. A love offering will be received. Light refreshments included. Doors open at 9:45 a.m. A pre-service prayer is available for those needing prayer and ministry.
