The City of Manning partnered with Save the Children and Sumter County First Steps to distribute more than 600 food boxes provided by the USDA on Saturday. Cars came out in droves an hour before the food distribution at the former Clarendon DSS building on South Church Street as volunteers, including community members, local officials and members of Manning Fire Department, gave away boxes full of essential food including dairy products, meat and fresh vegetables. There will be a second delivery on Wednesday, April 28, from 9 to 10 a.m. in Manning.
