MANNING - The Clarendon County Junior Golf program is raising money for its youth golf program through donations of $20 for a set of M2 TaylorMade graphic shaft irons, 4-iron through gap wedge. Fall with Friends Trunk or Treat is on Oct. 13

TURBEVILLE - Fall with Friends will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday on the Turbeville Town Square. The Trunk or Treat event will feature a costume contest, bake sale, games and Todd's Twisted Balloons. More "special treats" are in the works. Don't miss this afternoon of fun in Turbeville.

DuckFest continues Saturday with events

SUMMERTON - The Duck Capital of South Carolina will host DuckFest on Saturday. A 5K Color Run and Fun Duck Run will be held along with a Meat Calling Contest, a cook-off, a concert and lots more. A Cornhole Tournament will be held at 1 p.m. in the Town Hall parking lot. The entry fee is $40 per two-person team. The fee will be $50 per two-member team on the day of the event. Register now for women's conference

MANNING - The Master's Place Ministries is presenting the 2018 Real Talk Women's Conference at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the F.E. DuBose Career Center, 3351 Sumter Highway. Inaugural Teacher's Ball proceeds go to supplies

MANNING - The 1865 Reading Academy is presenting the Inaugural Teacher's Ball at 7 p.m. on Oct. 20 at The Matrix Center, 4648 Kingstree Highway. Advance tickets for the ball are $50 per couple and $30 for individual tickets. Proceeds from the ball will go toward school supplies for teachers and the academy. Church hosting yard sale fundraiser Oct. 20

MANNING - The Presbyterian Church of Manning, 233 N. Brooks St., is hosting a Philanthropic Education Organization Yard Sale beginning at 8 a.m. Oct. 20. This indoor/outdoor yard sale will have something for everyone. Numerous families have contributed tools and gardening items, furniture, home improvement items, housewares, linens, electronics, sports equipment, clothes, toys and holiday decorations. The money raised from the yard sale will support the church's scholarship program, grants and loans for women.

New Covenant will host revival starting Oct. 21

MANNING - New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2833 Alex Harvin Highway, is hosting the Time for Awakening Revival at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 21 through Oct. 24. The featured speaker will be John Black. The revival is sponsored by New Covenant Presbyterian Church and Emmanuel Baptist Church. Dinner will be served in the NCPC fellowship hall at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday and Wednesday nights. 5K fundraiser race will benefit animal group

SUMMERTON - For the Love of a Paw, a nonprofit animal rescue organization in Elloree, has partnered with Santee Hardware and Santee Cooper Resort and Country Club to host a new 5K race and kids' run to raise money and awareness of the need to manage the domestic animal population in Orangeburg and Calhoun counties. Gates open at 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 27 for race-day registration and check-in. Events to follow at 8:30 a.m. at Santee Cooper Resort and Country Club, 603 Santee Drive, Santee. eWaste recycling will be collected Oct. 27

MANNING - Is your electronic waste piling up? Clarendon County is offering its eWaste Recycling Program from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Administration Building parking lot, 411 Sunset Drive. "Shred-with-Us" will also be on site to shred your documents free of charge. No plastic or newspaper will be shredded. The program is accepting TVs with screens intact only, monitors, video display devices, intact computers, CPUs, keyboards, mice, printers, CD/DVD players, game consoles, small handheld electronics, cellphones, stereo tuners, radios, speakers, microwaves and vacuum cleaners. Sen. Johnson sponsors Halloween Fest event

MANNING - Sen. Kevin Johnson is sponsoring Halloween Fest from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 at the corner of Boyce and Boundary streets in Manning. Join Johnson for some ghoulish games, freaky run and frightening food.

MANNING - Mayor Julia Nelson and members of Manning City Council will be passing out candy while it lasts on Boyce Street in front of the Manning Fire Department beginning at 5 p.m. Oct. 31.

MANNING - Clarendon Gas is asking the community to support service men and women deployed overseas by providing care packages packed with essentials, including laundry detergent pods, fabric refresher, breath strips/mints, chewing gum, hard candy, shampoo, deodorant/antiperspirant, body wash, soap, shaving cream, toothpaste, floss, power/protein bars, granola bars, energy bars, cereal bars, powdered drink mixes, plastic utensils, playing cards, Frisbees, footballs, notebook paper, envelopes, pens, postage stamps and many more ideas.
