Closings, cancellations, postponements for tri-county area due to Hurricane Helene

Because of inclement weather expected by Hurricane Helene, the following have been postponed or canceled.

SUMTER
- Thursday's Women in the Holocaust talk at the Sumter County Museum is canceled.
- Sumter School District has canceled all after-school activities for Thursday and Friday. Schools and office buildings will be closed, and all activities, including athletic events and field trips are canceled.  Because Sumter School District is an approved eLearning district, this day will not need to be made up. Lessons and assignments will be posted in Schoology. Studeents who are unable to participate due to power outages, lack of internet service, or other barriers will be able to complete their eLearning assignments at a later time.
- Liberty STEAM Charter School will shift to eLearning on Friday, Sept. 27. 
- Morris College will close at 3 p.m. Thursday. Hours for Friday will be announced later.

CLARENDON
- Thursday's third-annual Journey to Recovery Event  at Weldon Auditorium, has been canceled.
- Clarendon County School District will shift to eLearning  on Friday, Sept. 27.

LEE
- All Thursday afternoon activities in Lee County Schools have been cancelled. The regularly scheduled board meeting for Thursday has been postponed until Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 6:30 p.m. All schools in Lee County will operate on an eLearning day schedule on Friday, Sept. 27.
