LYNCHBURG - Erika Charlotte Funke and Michael Paul Dunlap, both of Columbus, Mississippi, were united in marriage at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Tanglewood Plantation.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Bryan Funke of Sumter. She graduated from Sumter High School in 2012 and Clemson University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal and Veterinary Science. She is employed as a veterinary pharmaceutical sales representative by Boehringer Ingelheim.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dunlap of Sumter. He graduated from Sumter High School in 2011 and from the United States Air Force Academy in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science. He is a first lieutenant and pilot in the United States Air Force stationed at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi.

Chaplain Eddie Rubero of Shaw Air Force Base officiated.

Music was provided by the Emerald Empire Band of Atlanta.

Escorted by her father, the bride's gown featured lace overlays, a deep sweetheart bodice with a scalloped-edged V-neckline, a lace sash, and a layered A-line skirt finished with a sweep train. She carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas, French tulips, ranunculus, Juliet Garden Roses and sweetpea accented with white astilbe, dollar eucalyptus, olive branches and Italian ruscus with exposed stems tied with ivory ribbon.

Macy Charpentier served as maid of honor, with Elena Lim, sister of the bridegroom, as matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Eve Sherman, Haylie Hale, Eileen Mahoney, Sarah Green, Jessica Smetana and Chelsea Wessinger.

Grant Field served as best man. Groomsmen were Andrew Cohen and Alexander Funke, brothers of the bride, Clay Duggan, Hunter Nichols, Dan Perkins, Greg Copeland, Gavin O'Neil and Hayden Raabe. Joplin Funke-Dunlap served as ring bearer.

The reception was given by the bride's parents at Tanglewood Plantation.

The rehearsal party was given by the bridegroom's parents at Sumter City Centre.

The couple is going on an African safari at a later date.

They reside in Columbus.
