Gloria Gardner McEwen, widow of George Byard “Mac” McEwen, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. She was 82 years old. Born March 10, 1943, in Kingstree, she was the loving daughter of Grover Cleveland “G.C.” Gardner and Inez Gardner.

Gloria lived a beautiful life full of love, kindness and service. She had a true relationship with Jesus and spread His love throughout her life. She was a real estate agent with ERA Wilder Realty, where she was named Realtor of the Year, a 10-year-recipient of the Platinum Award and the Hall of Fame. She was a member of the S.C. Board of Realtors and the Sumter Board of Realtors. She was a shining example of strength, style and hard work. She was a lifetime member of the National Wild Turkey Federation alongside the love of her life, Mac. Gloria was also a Master Gardener. She took great joy in being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her smile lit up rooms, and she was quick to give out a genuine compliment to anyone she met. She taught her family to love all people and always treat others with kindness. She will be remembered for her hospitality and the way she made everyone around her feel loved and special.

Surviving are a son, Eddie Wilder (Renee); daughters, Donna Boyle (Barnes), Lisa Ray and Kim Rodberg; stepdaughter, Laura Fogarty (Tim); one sister, Patti McWhirter; grandchildren, Ad Boyle (Lindsay), Robert Wilder (Ali), Austin Boyle (Erika), Davis Boyle (Sara), Bradham Wilder (Natalie), McCain Moore, Grayson Moore (Olivia), McCauley Jones (Christopher), Alex Rodberg, Olivia Rodberg, Evans Boyle (Emerson), Mary Myers Rodberg, Katie McEwen, Michel Fogarty and Liz Anne Fogarty; 11 great-grandchildren; and one beloved little dog, Hope.

She was predeceased by a brother, Grover B. “Buddy” Gardner; stepson, Chip McEwen; and a son-in-law, Dale Rodberg.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held starting at 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2025, at Alice Drive Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Clay Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2025, at Alice Drive Baptist Church.
