James Thomas "Tommy" White, 64, husband of Melissa "Boo" Holmes White, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, at his home.

Born in Charleston, he was the son of Gayle Young White and the late James Maurice White.

Mr. White was a member of The Church of the Holy Comforter, a graduate of Sumter High School and the University of South Carolina. He was an avid Gamecock fan and golfer.

Surviving are his wife of Sumter along with his mother of Sumter; one son, Thomas M. White (Taylor), and one daughter, Charley White, all of Columbia; two sisters, Marsha Jones (Jim) of Sumter and Janet Beaumont of Atlanta, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday weather permitting in the Council Street lawn of Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marcus Kaiser and the Rev. John Sosnowski officiating.

Due to COVID-19 regulations, masks and social distancing are required. Inurnment will be held at a later date in The Church of the Holy Comforter Memorial Garden.
