GABLE -- John William "J.W." Floyd Sr., 69, husband of Marianne Campbell Floyd, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at his home in Gable.

Born March 6, 1935, in Turbeville, he was a son of the late Carson L. and Lydia Robinson Floyd. He was a retired salesman for Carolina Coca-Cola Bottling in Sumter and a member of First Assembly of God in Sumter.

Surviving besides his wife of Gable are two sons, John William "Bill" Floyd Jr. and wife, Lynn, of Georgetown and David C. Floyd of Gable; and two grandchildren, Brett William Floyd and John Owen Floyd.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Phil Simun officiating. Burial will follow in Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery in Barrineau.

Pallbearers will be Jay Davis, Marty Beatson, Gregg Beatson, Mark Christmas, Joe McCants, Elvin Rogers and Carson Prescott.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning and at other times at the residence, 14258 N. Brewington Road, Gable.

Memorials may be made to Tri-County Hospice, 1236-B Wilson Hall Road, Sumter, SC 29150 or to a charity of one's choice.
