Jon E. Ingram, age 75, beloved husband of 50 years to Lula M. Shorter Ingram, died on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020, at his residence.

Born on June 12, 1945, in Chicago, he was a son of the late James and Dorothy Ingram. Jon served his country in both the United States Army and the United States Air Force and retired from the retail paint business. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. He was an avid golfer and Chicago Cubs fan. He was very happy to see his Cubs finally win the World Series in 2016. Jon never missed a football or baseball game, gymnastics meet, dancing recital or beauty pageant that his children or grandchildren were participating in. He served as a past president of the Sumter Merchant Association, past director of the Sumter Crime Stoppers and was the past president of the Miss Sumter Scholarship Pageant.

In addition to his wife, Lula, he is survived by two daughters, Tracey Agostini and her husband, David, and Keely Wells and her husband, Rob; four grandchildren, Cameron Agostini, Jon David Agostini, Grant Wells and Sara Belle Wells; one brother, Darrell Ingram and his wife, Terry; one sister, Judy Owens; three sisters-in-law, Linda Glasscock, Etta Shorter and Terry Ingram; one brother-in-law, Pat Moran; a very special nephew, Jamie Glasscock; a very special niece, Zan Bracalente; and numerous additional nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Ingram; and one sister, Janet Moran.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Pressley officiating.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Bullock Funeral Home.
