KATHY JOHNSON DUBOSE

SUMMERTON - Kathy Johnson DuBose, 66, wife of Dr. James Daulton DuBose, died on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020, at McLeod Regional Medical Center.

Born on July 27, 1954, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Edward Barto Johnson and Rachel Baker Johnson Smith. She was a member of Summerton Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and member of the choir.

She is survived by her husband of Summerton; two daughters, Olive Elizabeth "Beth" DuBose and Dixie DuBose Stukes (Chalmers), both of Summerton; two sisters, Annette Hall (Arnold) and Beverly Johnson, both of Sumter; a brother, Allen Johnson (Ann) of Sumter; a sister-in-law, Ruth Johnson of Sumter; a brother-in-law, Robert L. DuBose of Santee; three grandchildren, Olivia "Livie" Brunson, Ella Stukes and Grace Stukes; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Johnson; a brother-in-law, the Rev. Thomas Mellette; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Mellette.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Clarendon Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Billy Carlisle and the Rev. Allen Johnson officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.
