Letter to the editor: Thank you to sponsors who retained support of Scout mission

As a result of COVID-19, unfortunately the Henry Shelor BBQ Cook-off to benefit the Boy Scouts of America event was cancelled, and we are unable to reschedule this year.

Scouting continues, our units are having meetings using teleconferencing, our Scouts have been taking Merit Badges online, and some units have even had virtual campouts. We are grateful of the support the Sumter community has given the Boy Scouts of America by supporting and attending our annual barbecue event.
