UPDATE: Sumter deputies take man considered armed and dangerous into custody

5:45 p.m.: Mark Bordeaux, public information officer with Sumter County Sheriff's Office, said Nicholas Hill, wanted on multiple charges and considered armed and dangerous, has been taken into custody.

Sumter deputies are searching for a man considered to be armed and dangerous as of Wednesday morning, June 26.

Sumter County Sheriff's Office has issued warrants for the arrest of 36-year-old Nicholas Hill, according to Public Information Officer Mark Bordeaux in a news release. Hill is wanted on charges of domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain crimes, failure to stop for blue lights, burglary in the first degree and bench warrants from both magistrate and family courts.

Hill has brown eyes, black hair, is 5 feet 6 inches and weighs 180 pounds. The sheriff's office advises Sumter residents to not approach him if they see him, as he is thought to be armed and dangerous.
