Sumter School District's Board of Trustees has moved its regularly scheduled monthly meeting from Nov. 9 to Nov. 16.

A district spokeswoman distributed the announcement Wednesday.

The meeting will be the first for new board member Gloria Lee, who won the Area 6 seat in Tuesday's general election. She will replace the Rev. Ralph Canty on the board. Canty had served on the board since the consolidated school district was formed in 2011. He didn't seek re-election for another term.

At the meeting, the trustees will also select a new chair, vice chair and clerk in board elections.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.

Like all board meetings since April, the meeting will be virtual and closed in person to the public due to COVID-19. All people wanting to attend the meeting virtually can do so via YouTube Sumter School District Board Meeting and the district's Facebook page, @SumterSCSchools.
