On the first weekend it finally felt like fall, kids and their families visited the Sumter County Museum to learn what the area's settlers lived like. The Carolina Backcountry Harvest has adults and children dressed up in late 18th and early 19th century clothing as they demonstrate different tasks from the day, like blacksmithing, cooking over a fire and hand-churning butter. There were even wooden stilts and other games they could try out.
