Sumter Today: We stop by the Sumter School District’s State of the District

Sumter School District superintendent Penelope Martin-Knox addressed nearly 200 school and community leaders for the first time in her role at the third annual State of the District on Tuesday. The event, started by then interim-superintendent Debbie Ham, gives the District an opportunity to be more transparent about its direction, showcase students and schools’ talents and to try to build stronger bonds with various community members and organizations.
