Sumter Today: Discs fly high and far at Dillon Park

Dillon Park was packed on Saturday, and most of the groups were there for one reason.

The park is home to one of Sumter’s three disc golf courses, and the county’s largest course hosted the 9th Annual Sumter Showdown Disc Golf Tournament this weekend.

Bringing in 99 players from across the region, the event was the tournament’s largest field yet.

We stopped by to learn more about the tournament and the sport that is gaining popularity in Sumter and beyond.
