Troy Bervig moved to Sumter for one specific reason that no one had ever moved here for before. To brew beer.

He’s the original and head brewer at Sumter Original Brewery, which opened in March of last year to become the county’s first-ever brewery and taproom.

We sat down with Troy to learn more about him, his process and what downtown Sumter’s SOB has to offer.
