CVS

As CVS pharmacists continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines in federally enrolled long-term care facilities, the company will soon begin offering shots at more than a dozen CVS Pharmacy locations across South Carolina, including in Sumter (which location will receive the doses isn't available at this time).

Appointments will become available for booking as early as Feb. 9 for 17 CVS Pharmacy locations in Aiken, Anderson, Clemson, Columbia, Greenville, Myrtle Beach, Summerville and Sumter. Supply for the limited rollout in the state, which a news release said is "sourced directly from the federal pharmacy partnership program," will be about 15,300 doses. As more supply becomes available, the company will expand to more locations.

Vaccines at participating locations will be available to individuals meeting state eligibility. Patients must register in advance at www.CVS.com or through the CVS Pharmacy app, and people without online access can contact CVS customer service at (800) 746-7287. Walk-in vaccinations without an appointment will not be provided.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Currently, phase 1a includes frontline health care workers, individuals 65 or older regardless of health status or preexisting conditions, long-term care facility residents and staff, admitted hospital patients who are 65 or older, employees who are administering COVID-19 testing and vaccines and mission-critical state/government employees.
