BETTY RUTH OWENS

Betty Ruth Owens, 89, wife of the late Charlie Ray Owens, died Tuesday, July 25, 2024, at NHC Healthcare Sumter.
Born Aug. 17, 1934, in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Harry Eulas Roland and Bessie Mae Tibbs Roland.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy R. Overby (Douglas); four sons, Kenneth D. Owens (Barbara), Richard D. Owens (Carma), Joseph R. Owens (Tanya) and Gary W. Owens Sr. (Susan); and one brother, Claude C. Roland.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Michael R. Owens, Charles A. Owens and Donald L. Owens; sisters Margaret Turner, Eula Mae Moore and Josie Rae Tallent; and one brother, Clyde O. Roland.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, with the Rev. Sammy Geddings officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
