A Sumter man is wanted in connection to a non-fatal shooting into an occupied home on Robney Drive.

Ty’heim Anthony James, 21, of Robney Drive, is wanted on charges of firing into an occupied dwelling, according to Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for Sumter Police Department.

The gunfire began after 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, when James' home was fired into from a passing vehicle that sped away, McGirt said.  An ongoing investigation indicated James then left his home and began firing shots along Robney Drive and into a home near his residence. Several people, including adults and children, were inside the home at the time of the shooting.

The home, next-door property and a nearby vehicle sustained damage. No injuries were reported, McGirt said.

Anyone who sees James or knows of his whereabouts is asked to call Sumter Police Department immediately at (803) 436-2700. Tips can also be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC, online at p3tips.com or by using the P3 Tips app for mobile devices.

A $5,000 reward is available for information leading to an arrest.
