Carris Virginia Christmas McDonald, 87, widow of Roland Wallace McDonald died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, at her home.
Born Feb. 28, 1937, in New Zion, she was the daughter of the late Tillman Christmas and Pearl Floyd Christmas.
She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and retired from Harvin Packing Company.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy McDonald, Diane Holladay (Bobby); a son, Wayne McDonald (Marsha); a stepson, Wallace Lambert; a sister, Debbie Burrows (Billy); numerous special grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a special sister-in-law, Jeanette Christmas; and a special pastor, Dr. Edward Fleming (Allene).
Funeral services will be held noon Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, at the Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Dr. Edward Fleming and the Rev. Mitchell Looper Officiating.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home.
