MILLIE VIRGINIA NESBITT GEDDINGS

Millie Virginia “Genny” Nesbitt Geddings, age 76, beloved wife of the late John Edward Geddings, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey.

Born in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Roy Nesbitt and Lillian Hill Nesbitt. Genny was a self-employed cosmetologist in Sumter until she and her husband opened Dixie Tools and Fasteners in September of 1984. A woman of strong Christian faith, she was known for her compassionate and giving nature. Her true joy in life came from time spent with her family. She will be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving to cherish her memory are three daughters, Heather Poston and her husband, Aaron “Bojo” of Sumter, Monica Pack and her husband, Robbie, of Alcolu, and Tristan Geddings of Sumter; a brother, Russell Nesbitt of Sumter; two sisters, Patricia Robinson of Oswego and Linda Ardis of Sumter; and four grandchildren, Ty Poston, Kailee Poston, Aubrey Pack and Bryceson Pack.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, at 11 a.m. in Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donna Green officiating. The burial will follow the service in Geddings Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bullock Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Clint Ardis, Mack Eades, Brian Harrell, Larry Hill, Billy Hudson and Vernice Meade Jr.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to all the caregivers, especially Shirley DuBose and Lynnett Coombs, for their loving and compassionate care over her illness.
