GENEVA HOGAN

Geneva Hogan, daughter of the late James Hogan and Sarah Louise Howard Hogan, was born in Sumter County on April 14, 1946. Her earthly life ended quietly on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, at Lexington Medical Center, Lexington.

She received her education in the public schools of Sumter County and Allen University, Columbia. She was employed by the Housing Authority of Sumter for a number of years and later taught school in District 17 for 10 years. After teaching, she decided to transfer to another field of work, which was when she worked as a librarian for 38 years at Sumter County Library.

At an early age, she joined St. Luke AME Church, where she served as a member of several ministries of the church.

She leaves to cherish precious memories her family and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at St. Luke AME Church, 2355 N. Saint Pauls Church Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Alvin E. Webb M.A., M. Div., pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Paul AME Church Yard Cemetery.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home of her son, 2087 Elmridge Road, Columbia.

The procession will leave from Williams Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m.
