LINDA DIXON HAYES

Linda Dixon Hayes, 75, widow of Robert C. Hayes, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024, at MUSC Kershaw Health Medical Center in Camden.
Born Feb. 17, 1949, in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Leland Witherspoon Dixon and the late Louise Bateman Dixon.  She was a member of Harmony Church and retired from the S.C. Department of Social Services.  
Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Ann Hayes of Sumter; a brother, Robert Leland Dixon (Marsha) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and a brother-in-law, Dr. James W. Hayes (Glenda) of Greer.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Jobie Dixon.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dan Keaton and the Rev. Drew Choate officiating.  Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harmony Church, 1021 Sterling St., Sumter, SC 29153.
