Eleanor Jane Kinney Bradham passed peacefully to heaven on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, 10 years to the day after the passing of her husband of 65 years.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Oct. 21, 2024, at 11 a.m. in the Ricker Conference Center at Birchman Baptist Church, 9100 N. Normandale St., Fort Worth, Texas. Visitation with family will begin at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Generation to Generation Building Fund at Birchman Baptist Church. Eleanor wanted future generations to know salvation through Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, and be in a church that would teach them to follow Him.

Eleanor was born Nov. 27, 1927, in Sumter to Thomas Dan and Mattie Truluck Kinney. She graduated from Edmunds High School, Sumter, in 1945 and Tuomey Hospital School of Nursing in 1948 as a registered nurse. She married her childhood sweetheart, Francis L. (Roy) Bradham Sr., on Aug. 26, 1949. Eleanor enjoyed her work as a surgical nurse from 1948 through 1953.

Eleanor and Roy raised their family in Conway, South Carolina, and were active members of First Baptist Church, Conway. Eleanor was a busy mother, helping with church, Scouts, sports and band activities with her four children. She and Roy moved to Texas in 2010 and were members of Birchman Baptist Church. Eleanor kept in close contact with the people she loved through a phone and letter ministry. Everyone who knew Eleanor knew that she was interested in them and loved them dearly. She was an encourager, and she helped many friends throughout her 96 years of life.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her granddaughter, Morgan Elizabeth Bradham; her brothers, Charles and Jimmy Kinney; and sisters, Betty Covington and Ann Frazier.

She is survived by her sons, F. L. (Bo) Bradham Jr. and Dan Bradham and wife, Amy; daughters, Becky Bradham and Beth Bowen and husband, Marcus; her sister, Susan Kinney Driggers; and sisters-in-law, Jackie Kinney, Billie Bradham and Leona Bradham. Her grandchildren who were loved by “Granny” are Marcus Bowen and wife, Katlyn, Virginia Bowen, Forrest Bowen and wife, Jeddy, Claire Bradham, Grace Bradham and Andrew Bradham and wife, Kelly. She loved her great-granddaughters, Lane, Ellis and Frances Bowen, Morgan Larra Bradham and Greenleigh Bowen, and she was looking forward to the arrival of Margot Bowen in October.
